Ground Level classroom it was rebuilt following theConcrete foundations spread across the floor of Hornsby Quarry, the footprints of machinery that processed dolerite for northern Sydney's roads for most of the twentieth century. Above them, near vertical rock walls rise through a Jurassic diatreme, the largest volcanic neck in the Sydney area. The quarry operated from around 1905 until 2002, extracting blue metal aggregate under a succession of operators. Part of the Hornsby Quarry series.
