Another way of checking if you have the later style is to peel the carpet away from the sill and if you can see the white foam backing then you definitely have the late style carpet

All the different coloured panels come with a chrome trim strip welded just above the carpeted section appropriate to most Minis built from 1982

We believe that this trim was used after the middle of November 1959

EARLY MORRIS MINI REAR POCKET LINERS 1973 -75 Cooper 1300 Export The ethos behind the NewtonThis style of rear pocket liner was only used in the early Morris Minis up until production in approximately November 1959. They were made from a black painted and grained board and included a cut out for the interior light and the ashtray. As with all early Mini items there was a lot of changes in the these early production years so if you are unsure we would recommend contacting our sales team for further details.
