Zulu Ukhamba Basket #145 Gold winnowing and holding waterThese handwoven baskets are woven by people from the Zulu tribe in the KwaZulu Natal region of South Africa. The fiber used is from the indigenous illala palm tree and the colors are natural dyes obtained from local roots, berries, bark and earth. Each basket is unique and can take up to a month to complete a medium sized basket.
